Yesterday Marie and I had the wedding of our friends Sabine and Tilan. The service was at the beautiful "art deco neo-gothic" Newman College Chapel (designed by Walter Burley Griffin). The reception was held at Sumac on the Yarra (past the Polly Woodside). The food and service was excellent, and we got to dance all night to the funky Get Down Gang - making a reprise from Alicia and Mick's wedding from six months ago.

I put Marie in a cab some time after 1:30 and a group of us kicked on to the Casino. I really hate that place and it looked for a moment like I might have to venture into one of the awful nightclubs there. Fortunately, disaster was averted and we went to a less-bad venue inside called The Pub. Alicia - as bridesmaid - was wearing her sari and got some nice compliments from strangers! I think saris are lovely and, as a Sri Lankan wedding, there were plenty on show.

Sabine and Tilan certainly looked like they enjoyed themselves too. I had a great time catching up with some school friends (Felicity, Andrea, Liz) that I haven't seen in a very long time, as well as some that I stay in touch with.
