Marie DID make a yummy risotto - mmm, tasty. Re: the monitoring. It does seem a bit slow, but I guess that's because it's a free internet monitoring site that we're using: you get what you pay for (eg. Geocities webhosting or Hotmail webmail are always going to be crapper than if you pay for it). With my IE it doesn't hamper the functionality of the page - you can still see content and follow links. Should be the same for NS. Anyway, it'll give us some hard numbers when we go to deal with the advertisers about putting some banner ads on here.

BTW, well done on the linking Gerd! For the others, the trick is to select the text you want hyper-linked, and then hit the button to the left of the B that looks like a circle with an infinity sign on it. Then, you get prompted to put in the URL. Anyway, enough HTML tutorial. I'm cooking dinner tonight - let's see what I come up with after a trip to the supermarket!

Oh yeah, more news: Taj has booked a ticket to India, and will be departing these shores on Thursday, 27th of September.

Last item: I'm going out tomorrow night with some old Uni mates, and then may be going to Frantic afterwards, a party at The Palace nightclub.

Marie and I saw The Bank last night - satisfying Australian movie about a maths genius being exploited by ruthless Gordon Gecko-style bank CEO. Lots of nice pictures of the Mandelbrott Set. This was, of course, part of the date-night proceedings.

Just had lunch with some old school friends - Sabine, Jonny, Alicia, Rickie and Brett - in Brunswick St. Doing a bit of "research" at the moment, and then heading off to Marie's parents' for dinner. My Mum and Dad will be in town tomorrow, so we'll go out to dinner with them, and Katy and David.

Yay - curry (or whatever it will morph into) sounds good.

Art thingy - 11:30am Thursday? Sounds fine. I have a tutors' meeting at 2pm, so will two hours suffice?

NB: I've invited Rickie, Taj and Gopi around for dinner on Thursday, so I will be cooking up a storm. Maybe chorizo napoli pasta with chorizo sausage and spinach? Still awaiting confirmation from the invitees. Oh yeah, drinks on Friday but you've no doubt seen the email already.

-Greg.

ps. I see I'm the only one here who has mastered inserting hyperlinks. Common guys - it's hypertext!

I got an email from Nicole, Taj's fiancee in Canada. Turns out she's been running a blog for a while now, so in the spirit of cross-blog promotions, you can visit it here:

Other news ... I hear from Neal that Paddy is off visiting his beloved Kate in NT for three weeks. I'm probably having drinks this Friday with Ivan et al. Sunday lunch is shaping up with Sabine and Alicia. And I need to pick a night this week to have my old housemate from Elgin St, Gopi, around for dinner. He's visiting Australia in preparation for his impending immigration here with his wife (!) and child (!!).

Also, I've put web tracking on these pages, so we should be able to find out who's reading this, as well as who's posting ... (hint hint, Theresa!)

Last night Theresa made a lovely dinner - wedges, beans and some beef in a wonderful red-wine sauce. With a nice cab-sav, it was delicious!

This Thursday, I will be preparing dinner for my mate Clifty and his partner, Anita, both of whom I've known for like, 10 years.

Welcome to the Stewart St Sharehouse Blog!

This blog serves as a sort of living history of the sharehouse, by allowing us to share messages with each other. It may also be of interest to our friends and family, as well as future historians ;-)

So, first some background. We live in a townhouse in Brunswick East, near CERES, between the No. 96 tramline and Merri Creek. It's part of a new development of some 15 yuppie dogboxes that's about a year old.

We got the place on February 8th, 2001. Greg , Marie and Neal shared a house together for two years in Elgin St, Carlton. As Greg and Marie were going out by this stage, they started looking for a house and invited Neal to live with them too. Then, in April, we found our fouth housemate, Gerd, a likely lad from Germany. Since then, we've had some visitors and guests. Theresa - Gerd's girlfriend from Germany - joined our household a couple of weeks ago.
